  • Caption: Springfield Terminal combine #16. ST has an interesting history, starting as a short interurban connecting its namesake Vermont town to a nearby Boston & Maine line. It was subsequently leased to the B&M, and although all of its track has been abandoned it has survived on paper. Due to having more favorable labor agreements, between 1985 and 1994 Guilford leased the former B&M and Maine Central systems to ST. Since then it has owned Guilford's (now Pan Am Railways) locomotives. (August 29, 2010)
