Caption: Connecticut Trolley Museum also hosts the Connecticut Fire Museum, established in 1968. Outside the display building is a free-standing fire station callbox. These and telephone pole-mounted versions are still common in parts of the US; in fact, a few months earlier I received a reverse-911 call to inform me that the callboxes in part of my town had been knocked offline by a construction crew.
