  • Caption: Early in 2007 1005 was sent to Pan-Am's shops in Waterville, Maine for repairs after being out of service for some time (one of the previous photos here shows her in the dead line behind BET). The work included having the prime mover replaced with one the T got from Amtrak several years ago, and a new coat of paint. All of the work was done for free, as Pan-Am owes the T several million dollars in fees for using MBTA-owned tracks. 1005 returned to BET on the weekend of May 26-7, looking pretty snazzy in her new paint.
