  • Caption: Genset switcher 3249 sits at South Station after arriving from Readville with the Readville Switcher, the nightly equipment transfer from Readville to Boston Engine Terminal. The Switcher always stops at South Station so a crew member can get clearance from the dispatcher for the trip over to Beacon Park Yard and then up the Grand Junction Branch to BET. 3249 is one of two 3GS21B switchers built by National Railway Equipment in 2009 for the T, the other being 3248.
