| For decades this has been the northern terminus of the Green Line. Weged into the corner between Cambridge Street and the Msgr. O'Brien Highway, it has a tight loop and small yard. Only E-branch trains come here, crossing over the Lechmere Viaduct (over the Charles River) and the Lechmere El from Science Park. The el is one of only two left in the Boston area; the other is a short stretch of the Red Line between Charles/MGH and Park Street. Current plans are to move the station to the other side of the highway as part of an extension to Malden. | |||
