  • Caption: The East Branch & Lincoln was a logging railroad that operated from Lincoln, NH east into what is now the White Mountain National Forest from 1893 to 1947. This Porter-built 0-4-0 tank engine and logging cars sit outside the entrance to Loon Mountain. Part of the Kancamagus Highway was built over the EB&L right of way. (May 30, 2010)
