Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority

The MBTA, or the T as Bostonians call it, was created in 1964 to take over from the older Metropolitan Transit Authority and expand its scope and powers.  It runs subways, trolleys, buses, trackless trolleys, commuter trains, and commuter ferries serving metro-Boston and beyond.
