Caption: 3234 heads up the hill between Central Ave and Milton after leaving the former. The bike path is on the right-of-way of the New Haven's Milton Branch, which it retained as a spur to serve the Baker Chocolate Factory after the Shawmut Branch and the rest of the Milton Branch were transferred to the Boston Transit Department for conversion into the Dorchester Extension of the Red Lien and the Mattapan High Speed Trolley. Conrail abandoned service in the 1980's when the chocolate factory closed down, and the ROW was converted to a bike path in the early 2000's. (June 1, 2008)
