Caption: Two bridges connect Goat Island to mainland Niagara Falls, NY. The one closest to the falls is used primarily by pedestrians, though shuttle buses also use it. It appears that at some point it was determined that either the bridge had become weakened or was too weak to support modern vehicles. Rather than rebuild it, a Bailey bridge was laid op top of the original bridge. (May 25, 2011)
