  • Caption: The model railroad. Several times a day the museum has operation sessions where they demonstrate two "days" of railroad operations. The overhead lights turn off to simulate night, and the trains and buildings light up. The operator is really an em-cee, describing (in Japanese, alas) what's happening. Commuter trains, long distance trains, freight trains and Shinkansens all run during the show. It's much more fun to watch a show like this than just an ordinary model railroad with trains running on autopilot all day.
