| Here are some photos I took in Albuquerque on December 19, 2005. Albuquerque is on BNSF's Glorieta Subdivision, which connects with the Raton Sub over Raton Pass. BNSF runs few trains on the line, most of which are eastbounds (most trains use the Transcon line to the south, which has easier grades and is double-track the whole way). Amtrak trains 3 and 4, the westbound and eastbound Southwest Chief, provide some variety (and usually the only westbound traffic), as will the New Mexico Rail Runner when that starts up in 2006. | |||
